Mommy Shopping Day

One thing my mom does every year is she buys $50 worth in clothes for each kid on their birthday. This year for Skylar per tradition we went on a mother-daughter shopping day! My mother went just a little over board for her this year ($111!) but she was very thankful she got a new summer wardrobe. My kiddo is a bargain shopper let me tell you. She was finding clothes on sale left and right! "Mom look only $3!" Target and Penny's had some great outfits this summer. She left with roughly 15 new outfits in different combinations. Total rockstar my daughter! After some awesome deals we went and got some ice cream...

The other kiddos got to hang out with Aunt KK before we got back home. It was a fun day for us all!

Daddy Day

Father's Day was amazing this year! The girls and I made and created so many cute little gifts. They will all be so special for Danny as they grow up. One idea had been circling Pinterest for a little while an I thought it was adorable! With four little girls he would absolutely love it...

I took this idea and created my own little version. The girls had the cutest things to say about their daddy.

It turned out great don't you think? We also created a book that was "All About Daddy". My goodness they had some fun with that! My girls had so much fun that I decided to make some great little gifts for my dad as well. Now I always get him something but the girls and I had a lot of fun this year making special gifts.

Top photo is what the kids made for Danny and this bottom photo is my dads gifts from the girls and I.

Finally my girls saw a photo on Pinterest (of course) and decided last minute they wanted to do that as well...so...Happy Daddy day babe. We love you so much!

Independence Day

Today we all have our traditions, our time spent with family and wonderful friends. It's a day where many take the time to really think of the men and women that have and continue to sacrifice their lives for our continuing freedom. I love this day! Then again I love everyday...I think of friends in all branches of service daily. My thoughts are constantly on my father whom was once a Marine and now waits ever so patiently for a new kidney. We have to remember that the men and women who serve never stop sacrificing. They don't have days off (at least not like the rest of us). They sacrifice their lives in more ways than one. It's heartbreaking to think about how many moments a father misses with his children from being on duty. I know my husband misses more moments than he would ever want to with our kids and he comes home every night. I am so grateful for those men and women, those mom and dads...you are incredible! Thank God for those like you. To all my amazing, incredible, selfless, heroic family and friends... THANK YOU!!!

That being said my three girls and I (my oldest is with her daddy back home) had a fantastic, relaxing day. It started with a parade, ended with fireworks over the lake and had a BBQ thrown in the middle. Kiera (4 years) asked me who's birthday it was today...I responded by telling her today was Americas birthday. She got very excited and in an squeaky voice exclaimed "so it's everyone's birthday?!" Yes kiddo something like that lol. I loved explaining our true independence and why it is celebrated today. I loved telling her about our constitution and that in this family we will always believe and follow in that great piece of American history.

Happy Independence Day to you all!

Shoes, Shorts & Sports

Everything about this entry is in the title. I know right now it seems like I am talking a lot about Skylar but you gotta give us a break. She has just gotten home and we missed her more than words could ever say! As you know from the previous posts it was her birthday and something she gets every year from my parents is $50 for new clothes. So...this year she picked it all out! It's so much fun to see how there style changes from year to year. My girls are growing so fast I can't keep up!

Check out her awesome new shoes! I know right?! I totally love them too. My kid has taste.

Apart from shopping the girls started their sports for the summer. All girls old enough are playing softball. It will be Skylar's 4th year in the sport and she just keeps getting better.

Home Run Baby!!!

Cousin, Friend

As soon as Skylar got home one of the first things she wanted to do was have a sleepover. Now when we have a party it is always amazing...between danny and his two other siblings there are 10 kiddos from 2 months to 12 years! And it seems there is always an extra one or two thrown in...what's one more when you already 10 right lol?!

My girl loves her cousins... Her mother argued in court that since cousins are family they don't count as other friends. Well when you have more fun with your cousins than anyone else who needs other friends?! My cousin was and is one of the best friends I will ever have. Needless to say although they are all related they had a blast! These cousins are the best of friends!!!

My girl turns 8

IMy oldest girl turned 8 this past month! I have no idea where the time has gone but from the first moment we met she had my heart. I knew we would spend many, many birthdays together. She is growing into a beautiful young lady with the biggest heart... We were blessed to have another year with her on her birthdate...(she goes back and forth from our home to her bio moms home). My hubby picked her up in Texas and flew home to Colorado with her. In the previous post you see our family waiting for her to land. We spent the weekend in Denver and let our birthday princess choose and plan the weekend...fun right?!

To start it out the family went to Dave and Busters and played games until 12am...(may not seem late to you party people but for mom, dad and four little princesses it was well past bedtime lol).

We headed back to our fabulous hotel and the next morning birthday girl wanted to head to the Children's Museum in Denver. The kids (and parents I might add) had an amazing time! I would recommend this place for any family of all ages.

There are so many rooms to play in! They have a bubble room, an art room, a shopping center, pizza place and restaurant, a workshop and many more (all pretend for the kiddos of course).

We had so much fun! Happy birthday my beautiful, fun loving princess!!! Best friends forever my girl, mama love you!
